If you passed all of ACCA, gained the relevant work experience requirements and were admitted to membership you would be a Chartered Certified Accountant.

You would be able to prepare accounts up to trial balance, prepare VAT returns and payroll, but you would not be allowed to sign accounts or tax returns or prepare information which a 3rd party would rely on. You would need to refer to the ACCA rulebook for detailed information on this. In essence, you would not be able to hold out to be a practising Chartered Certified Accountant.

In order to do the work of a Practising Accountant you would need a further 3 years post qualifed experience, supervised by a suitably qualified supervisor and pass a further Course before being issued with a practising certificate.

More information can be found on the ACCA Website about the do's and dont's they require.

    Kind regards
    Steve

    Hi

Going on from what peugeot put, if you work for an accountancy firm or in an industry business then you would be able to do most things you're skilled for as the practising certificate issue applies if you wish to be self employed.

That's half the trouble with the ACCA - it's all very technical.

I rang them the other week to ask for some advice and they didn't seem to know the answer!!!
