Grateful for any advice

I am looking at resitting my Technician exams in December (DFS, PEV, PCR).

I originally took these in June 2005 when I was attending college.

I am currently going to do the resits at home and my question was on how to approach the papers.

For Example should I just revise what I had already done, or should I start again from scratch.

I would hate to fail them again as I have taken the two costing papers twice already and it will be my second attempt at the finance paper.

I am really struggling with the motivation issue, I think once I work out how to get underway I will be OK.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Leah

I would imagine you can remember bits of each unit as there has only been one year since you took these exams.

Which one do you find is closest to your work?

This tends to help, because the standards become real rather than somethings to learn for an exam.

Have a go at the exams for this June (2006) under exam conditions - 3 separate 3hr tests and look at each in a critical way and see where your areas of weakness lie.

Then draw up a timetable with a couple of topics a week and work on them steadily using your books your notes from last year and the questions themselves from June.

When you've done that retest yourself using 3 more past papers and go through the process again.

Your most valuable weapon in the fight to pass these exams must be your own self-discipline.

Thank you for your comments Sandy. I think that you are definitely right about the self discipline issue.

I am going to do try and organise myself by doing the timetable as you suggested.

I am also going to consider doing some revision courses nearer to the exam time.

Once again many thanks for your advice
