I am considering studying Technician through distance learning as I have become fed up with the college I was attending. Lack of info, lecturers contradicting eash other, etc.

I am trying to decide between FTC and Premier Training. FTC seem more 'professional', flashy web site etc., but would Premier be better as they are a smaller company, more personal attention?

Any opinions would be welcome.

Thanks :D

    Hi Zoe

I have used both Premier and FTC and found both slow to respond with marking. FTC set a timetable for the Technician level and if you find that you are falling behind and have to reschedule they charge you £30 for the privilege.

I would add though that you must be self motivated, because both will just issue the learning materials and leave you to it, which can get a bit much when you are struggling.

Best of luck with your decision and Technician.

    Hi

Premier tutors are generally good if you contact them when you are stuck. My tutor marks work fairly quickly except at exam times when past papers take priority (which is to be expected). The internal verifier tends to slow things down as she is only part time. It soon gets done if you shuffle them along.

I've found them fine anyway. There is a lot of self motivation needed but if your college has been annoying you the text books are easy to follow and you might find your wasting less time.

    Good luck, Tori
