My son started a six week sponsored walk on Monday so eight weeks ago my partner and I thought 'why don't we get married before he goes' and booked it for Saturday 1st - stupidly not checking the football schedule first! The wedding went well but most guests were late for the evening because of penalties.
We dropped my son off at the start of the walk Monday morning and I then spent the second day of my honeymoon in tears (he's still my baby even if he is 6'2") Then yesterday we had to do a rescue mission because his (£240) backpack broke so we never managed to spend any time alone where I wasn't panicking or crying.
Now back at work and by the look of my desk you would think I had been away for a month not three days!
Oh well things can only improve.
