Now that I have finished the AAT Technician course - dependant upon my exam results in August! I am interested in studying ACCA this coming September!

Unfortunatly me employer is not willing to fund my studies so all costs will have to be paid for by myself!

Where would be the best place to study! Home study!

Thank you for your help

    Hi,

You may find that if you want a taught course, your local college may be cheaper than FTC/BPP. Otherwise yeah, home study would be your cheapest option (as long as you are disciplined enough to make yourself work!!)

    Hi

If you very disciplined and if you can get help advice from someone else, self study is also an option. Basically you would buy the books, study them and take the exams. It owuld be the same as home study but with out a tutor to turn to for advice.

I worked with a guy a couple of years ago who did this and he seemed quite happy to do it and it seemed to work for him.

I did home study for my first couple of papers at ACCA level and I must admit, it was a complete disaster. We are all different though, what was wrong for me might be right for you.

I would recommend a taught course as these kind of courses discipline you to actually do the work. Though that is my opinion.

My advice would be to try both methods initially and see which suits you best.

    Kind regards and good luck.
