CIMA

I have done my AAT and currently work in industry, I will be doing some self-employed work, I wanted to study for ACCA or ACA but both proved to be a nightmare as with ACCA I could not do self employed work & with ACA I needed a training contract.
So I have nearly opted to go for CIMA as it would still fit my current job and I would be able to do self employed work while studying. I know that I would not be able to become auditor but I am looking for a small practice in some years and if need be sub contract audit work to some one.
I just wanted to know if I do become member in practice with CIMA, apart from audit work, how would it affect the reaction of the parties such as banks, clients,Inland Revenue as they will see accounts coming from a Management Accountant?
If there are any other issues, please advice. Thanks in advance.

Re:CIMA
I have contact with many of the high street banks on a regular basis on behalf of my clients both existing ones and new ones, I have never had a problem ( I don't have a chartered qualification just my AAT)
I think the same applies if you have CIMA, ACCA or ACA, banks, building societies etc only frown upon those who do not have a formal accountancy qualification and would be reluctant to rely on information supplied by someone who had not had any formal training.
As the chartered courses cover pretty much the same with the exception of audit, I don't think you would have too much trouble.
Hope this helps

Re:CIMA
Hi
Bare in mind that (as far as i'm aware) CIMA don't except self employed experience for the requirements for membership.
