Re:Foundation Level
Hi Tracy.
My advice is: relax and enjoy yourself :-)
Do some study in your spare time. Make sure you understand things, not just remember them.
Ask your tutor, fellow students or on here if you get stuck.

Re:Foundation Level
I came back to studying after 25 years. It's great when you realise the grey cells are still working!
My advice would be to take it steady, don't be afraid to ask for help and enjoy the process!

Re:Foundation Level
I started Foundation last year and hadn't studied for ten years. I really enjoyed it and loved learning something new. Everyone on my course was really nice as was my tutor. You'll find a lot of people will be in the same boat as you. Enjoy it. 0 -

Re:Foundation Level
Feeling nervous? No - it's excitement! Don't forget that everyone on the course is in the same boat. If they had all the answers, they wouldn't be doing it!

Re:Foundation Level
I have just finished the foundation course. I did tuesdays 230pm - 530pm for the accounts. And 545pm to 730pm for the admin (portfolio) side.
I was nervous before I started but once I got there and saw the other people and my lecturer I felt immediately at ease. I finished a-levels 8 years ago and was one of the youngest there!!0 -

Im doing it at Loughborough College!0 -
Re:Foundation Level
Keep on top of the health and safety portfolio, then you will be fine. Also have a look at suspense accounts as most people seem to have a problem with that.

Re:Foundation Level
Hi Tracey,
Good to know you're doing the right course - when a group of us went for our induction interview, they brought the AAT course enrollers to the same room as the OCR enrollers because people were getting confused about which one was which (which is why I said check which course you're doing).
As far as I can remember, my tutor had a presentation going on which went like this:
NVQ AAT Lvl 2 Foundation
Then to Intermediate
Then to Technician Lvl or Uni to do Business and Finance Degree
Then onto CIMA, ACCA Etc
That's how my course was spanned out.

Re:Foundation Level
Thanks Jamie
I have contacted Loughborough College and have asked them which one I have enrolled on!! Its the diploma pathway!! Not sure if this means more work or not! But my tutor said the NVQ caused some problems so they have stopped doing that one!
I am looking forward to it now, just hope I understand it all ok - if not I will ask for support from the tutor! But even now I get confused with the Debit and Credit side of things! Thats what made my score so low on the skills test I took on this website!
Things can only get better...

Re:Foundation Level
http://www.osbornebooks.co.uk/quiz/show_category.php?qid=AAT/NVQ Accounting
There are a few quizzes on there to take - Some of the Q's are difficult (for us first time AAT students anyway).
I only did the 1st one and got bored as I was guessing some of them - I'd rather cover a topic then take a mini quiz, but I did get 18 from 20 on Unit 1 Quiz :-o
/me putting lottery on hehe0 -
