ACCA/CIMA

Hi there,
Does anyone know what is better to do after AAT? ACCA or CIMA.They are both good professional qualifications but i am confused. :?

    Hi there

    My opinion is that it depends on where you want your career to go.

    If you want to stay in Industry, working in manufacturing, retail, construction etc it may be more desirable to have CIMA because the type of accountancy will probably involve more cost based work.

    Alternatively, if you want to work in practice or for yourself it will probably be better to have ACCA because it is a lot more Financial Accounts and Business Management based.

    At the end of the day they are both excellent qualifications and will open loads of doors for you wherever you decide to go.

    I am starting ACCA because I eventually want to start my own independant business.
