I keep on trying to find out what the CPD log is?? Everytime I try and find something I come up blank.
Can anyone tell me what this log is about....and is it important for my AAT qualification? Sorry if this is a stupid question...but I just don't know!
Thanks,
Mark.

Re:CPD Logs
There is a CPD log on this website under the CPD heading - you can log into that and then enter any CPD that you have done - is that what you wanted to know, or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Re:CPD Logs
The CPD log is simply a log that you need to keep to show hour many hours you have spent on CPD.
You can access your account from this website and log into CPD where you can log the type of CPD that you have done and how many hours it took.
I was under the impression that it was for AAT qualified members who need to keep up to date with changes ie: IAS, but am not sure about AAT students.
From 2008 CPD will be mandatory for AAT members.
Have you checked out the CPD link at the top of this page, you should find most of your questions answered there.

Re:CPD Logs
CPD is Continuous Professional Development.
Basically once qualified you need to keep your knowledge up to date. You decide what you need to know and how to go about aquiring the knowledge.
For example I wanted to aquire a more in depth knowledge of tax issues and as part of my CPD I have decided to do the Association of Taxation Technicians course.
The main thing to remember is CPD should be linked to your work, is there anything you need to / should know to help you improve your work or to help you to develop your career?
CPD can be done in a variety of ways, i.e a course of study, AAT branch meetings, reading/research to name a few.
CPD does not have to be accountancy based, for example a fellow colleague of mine is studying French, although not accountancy by improving her French in the hope she will be able to understand a French client who speaks some English but not a vast amount.
Cpd is not compulsory for students and will become compulsory for all members from 2008 (I think). However it is mandatory if you are an MIP or an FMAAT.
Enough waffle, I hope this helps
