Bookkeeping - hourly rates

I've just qualified at foundation level and have started the intermediate course.

I'm a secretary and have been offered some part time work as a bookkeeper for a small business (I know I'm not to mention the AAT in any way) but have absolutely no idea what sort of hourly rate to charge.

Can anyone help?

Jo

I'll be entering all the sales and purchase invoices onto SAGE (instant), doing the bank and preparing for year end. He's got a firm of accountants that do his payroll and VAT returns. I'll just be doing the day to day bits and pieces.

Roughly only going by your qualifications then i would say around £10 to £12 an hour is realistic
