Life after the exams

I am working my way through Technician studies and hope to be qualified by the end of next year.
What will I be able to do once qualified - ie what type of work as a self employed person / and roughly what will I be able to charge?
I WAS considering continuing to Chartered but my circumstances might not allow it - so I'm wondering what I can do as an ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN rather than a full blown chartered accountant.

Re:Life after the exams
Hello
If you want to become self employed you'll need to first register as a 'member in practice'. There's loads of information on this website about what you can and can't do, but basically you can carry out any work that you're competent to.
What you can charge varies a lot depending on where you live and what kind of work you'll be doing (ie you'll probably get less for bookkeeing than for preparing full accounts). I also often quote clients for a complete job rather than an hourly rate.
Have a look through this forum - there's a lot of advice on here for people in your situation.
Good luck!
