Financial accounts - list of procedures

System

I am a new member in practice and would like to know if any one out there has a standard checklist of procedures for preparing the annual accounts and tax return that they use as each assignment progresses. I have set one up but other items keep cropping up and the list gets bigger all the time!! Or I forget something that I should have done until its too late. Ahh the joys of self emplyment!!
