Dont have a job

Hello there

I am in my 5th week in foundation and need some advise.

I am a single mum of 3 children and so I am unable to work at the moment. I am in te process of finding out what I have to sort out/find out and fill in ie, portfolio etc but all I hear about is your employer helping, bein a mentor or signing off work.

What do I do in this sitation :?:

Is there anyone who is in the same situation or has been in this situation...........or just anyone :!: :!: :!:

    I don't think I have to get anything signed off by my workplace Cherry, at least nothing has been said on that on my course anyway (Foundation too, 5 weeks in).
    Everyone on here can help you with your port folio presentation so you have no worries there...
    I take it you're distance learning?

    If you are distance learning, you will need to appoint someone to supervise your skills tests. The actual skills tests will be sent to them so you cannot read them before and cheat.

    No, Im at college on tuesday n thursday evenings, not distance learning.

    In which case your tutor will sign off the port folio pieces as they see necessary.
    I do night classes too and have heard nothing about employers signing off work.

    You can base some of the port folio around the work place such as the Health and Safety unit (boring) - but you can also do it on the college you are attending (some of the people in my group have done it this way.

    I guess having an employer can only boost your skills and nothing else as you can approach them for help - but as I said, I don't think my employer needs to sign anything off.

    Hi,
    I wouldn't worry about it to much, i am doing NVQ2 and i don't have a job either. I am a full time mum and have no time for a job at the moment. There are a few of us on my course that don't have a job or work in accounts. We have been told not to worry about it by our tutor as they will give us worksheets to make up in these areas.
