I applied this morning, but its gonna be real awkward seen as where I want to work is 45 mile from where i live! Dont know how ill make the interview. Thinking of telling the gaffer that Im relocating, so I need to take time unpaid, and I will work out of hours if need be.0 -
Re:Study Buddy

Re:Study Buddy
One for Jamie or any other Excel kings out there.
I want to update my Excel CIS control register and would like it to auto-calculate my payment to the subbie for me. I could do this manually but am rather too lazy...
I have a box that says VAT registered with yes or no as the selectable options. I then have another box after it that will look at the the previous yes or no box and then work out the VAT element on the total net amount charged by the subbie should he be registered.
So the formula is essentially; if cell A (or whatever cell) equals 'yes', then rounddown the total net amount x 17.5%, otherwise leave zero. So it's a mix of IF and rounddown formulae.
Clear? I'm sure it's not too difficult a one but I'm having a bad day today so far...!

Try this - you're almost threre by the way.. where I use Buff you change to the cell location where you have yes/no
Go to the cell you want the VAT amount to go into and type:
=if(Buff="Yes", (NetAmntCell*0.175),"")
So, if cell says YES then multiply the amount in the NET TOTAL cell by 0.175, otherwise put the amount of zero.
Qhy would you want to round down the net amount when calculating VAT on it, why not just leave it as it stands (sorry, not much of an AAT Student now so not up to scratch on workings)

Re:Study Buddy
Oh believe me - it is!
I was shocked. The first moment I saw Will I went all tingly  but I didn't when I saw Jack. I feel like I've cheated on him!0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Thanks Jamie - works a treat now! I wanted to round down the VAT element only but since it's only ever gonna be one pence out at most, I'll manually adjust it when and if it happens!

Re:Study Buddy
I think it's the rugged look that does it for me. In this one he looks more rough, with sideburns and a beard etc and he had his chest out for nearly all of it *swoon*0
