Ive been looking at starting up on my own for a little while and have finally got to the stage where I'm buying my final things ready to go.
I have been looking at a Sage software package and they recommend Sage Professional Bookkeepers Club. Has anyone signed up to this and give me any feedback about it?
Much appreciated

Re:Sage Bookkeepers Club
Hi
I'm a member of the Sage Accountants Club, the Bookkeepers Club wasnt set up when I joined. Supposedly we should get discounts and priority, but thats not the case. I also havent got any response to my posting through Sage's website.
I did get single company Sage Line 50, Sage Payroll and ACT as part of the membership, but I have bought the Sage Line 50 Client Manager version since, as I found it a bit too risky for me to keep backing up and restoring. A few months ago you had to be a member of the Accountants or Bookkeepers club to buy the bureau version of the software but thats not the case any more, so I personally would check the prices of the Sage Line 50 software before joining the Bookkeepers club. You could always start with the Inland Revenue CD for payroll as you can use that for more than one Employer and it's free.

Re:inland revenue CD
I am looking into accounts software and interested in Inland Revenue payroll CD, I hadn't heard of this before - do you get it from HMRC website and if so or not - where?0 -
Re:Inland Revenue CD
OK, found the CD amongst all the other information for payroll on HMRC
How do you find the Bureau version of Sage 500 - I am considering starting with the bottom end Sage and backing up separately - and then convert to the top end software later on. Any specific problems and is Sage Cover very reliable for answers?0 -
Re:Sage Bookkeepers Club
So would you recommend just purchasing the Sage Line 50 Client Manager muiltcompany and forget Sage Bookkeepers Club?0 -
Re:Sage Bookkeepers Club
If it was me I would just forget the Bookkeepers Club, I don't intend to rejoin the Accountants club after my Membership runs out, unless I get offered a really good deal.
One thing you need to remember is that you do get free Support through the Accountants and I assume the Bookkeepers Club, so it might be worth comparing the cost of Support with joining the Club, unless your knowledge of Sage is good enough that you are happy you won't need support. I've contacted them a few times this year, but not really enough to make it worth spending £350.
Salisbury - I did contact Sage about Sage 500 for a Friend who's company were buying it and she wanted to get ahead of them, but they don't offer any training material on it, so it's not something I've used.0
