Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?

I have a number of payroll clients where I filed their PAYE Y/E forms online in April. I have yet to receive any notification that I can deduct the £250 filing incentive from future PAYE payments. Has anyone else received notifications yet?

Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
I received a letter a couple of months ago asking if I wanted the cheque or to deduct it from my next payment.
I opted for a cheque and it arrived a couple of weeks later.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one!0 -

Are you registered as an agent? If so, have you checked the online services for notices?0 -
Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
I'm an employer as opposed to an agent - maybe that's why mine was quicker?
The payment was received on 7th August - but I sent the submission through immediately the year finished.
Looking at their remittance advice it is actually a full statement of our PAYE payments with the £250 being shown as an incentive payment.0 -

Yes I am regsitered as an Agent and have checked my mailbox on the Government Gateway on a regular basis. From the comments on this thread, it appears that employers who filed their own forms are receiving the incentve payments quicker than Agents.0 -
Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
We received our notices back in July (we are agents). However, we did not realise that we had to re-enter our e-mail address into the new system which HMRC introduced at the beginning of the tax year, and so did not realise we had any messages until the end of August. I had to go through each client seperatly (70ish of them) and print off the notices. The new system is quite slow and this took some time! Our clients are getting their payments now, although we sent the letter requesting payment a while ago!0 -

Where abouts do you have to enter the email address?0 -

I have re-entered my email address countless times, but I still do not get emails telling about things - it is a real pain as I keep forgetting to check  and then have masses to do!

Don't you just love the consistancy of HMRC? if you look at this topic: Small employers and the £250 online filing incentive payment, here:
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/workingtogether/taxbul-april05-note.htm
it says that you don't need to wait for a notification letter to deduct the £250 from future payments, although I see now that that's changed for 2005/06. Oops. Well my clients have had their payments reduced already and I've yet to receive a notification. If anyone upsets me now I'm going to tell them that they have to pay it back until I get the notice

Yes I saw that article and then rang the Revenue to ask if I could deduct the £250 and they said I had to wait until I received notification!0 -
Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
To enter the e-mail address, when you log in, on the left in the PAYE menu there is a heading 'Notifications email'.0 -
Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
I filed online as an agent, as an employer (for clients who have registered direct) and online for a couple of clients using my Agents ID without having them registered as clients and have received notification for all of them. Some by email and some through the post. I received the notifications 2 or 3 months ago.0 -
Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
I am rather concerned after reading your message Sue as to why I have not received notification for any of my clients. I think I will have to contact the Revenue to seek an explanation (if they can give one!).0 -
Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
I think it must be down to the local offices and they really don't have a clue at newcastle!
I have a client who incorporated during 2005/06 and got a new employer ref no - they couldn't make their mind up whether they wanted one P35 or two, and every time they changed their minds the system 'automatically issued another P35'. It's been going on since january and they've still not sorted it out.
good luck getting any sense out of them!0 -
Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
It does seem like you're not the only one that's still waiting so perhaps I was just lucky with those that I filed.
With a couple that I filed the notification was sent to the client and it was only by luck that I found the letter with a load of their filing, because they didnt tell me they'd received it, so it might be worth contacting the Inland Revenue like you've said, just in case your clients have received the letter and forgotten about it!0 -
Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
its explained in the 'online filing:do it online electronic filing and payment handbook' on the employers section of the HMRC website.to be able to self-serve (deduct the online filing incentive for the previous year from the next monthly payment) you have to first receive the notification.0 -
Re:Online filing incentives - have you received the £250 yet?
'Self-serving' is of course no use if there is no PAYE liability, as is the case for most of my clients.
Nice thread resurrection by the way.
