    I am doing PEV in December along with PTC and a FRA resit, no good.

    I feel great, but not about the exam!

    Came upstairs to begin revising at 8pm and at 9.35 I'm just thinking about starting!

    Well, I think I've cracked it. It wasn't easy but I kept plugging away.

    I devised my own method of learning them and it worked!

    Best tip I've heard so far is to write out all the variances on the back of the exam papers before you do anything else - even before you've read a question.

    That way, they're clear in your mind before you get confused with the questions.

    It's good practice. I do it automatically before I answer any questions. Might all go wrong on the day, but it's working at the moment!

    Well, I keep thinking I have cracked it until I come to do the next past exam paper. DRIVING ME MAD.

    I think I may just write the formulae down for the o/h's and sit in a room all night repeatig it, ha ha ha ha, hubby will think I have gone metal.

    I had quit smoking until this intense revision kicked in, boooo bad me!!!!

    Anyway, back to variances and performance indicators and all the gubins that comes with it.

    Hi, I'm doing a resit of PEV in Dec also, moved to Holland after june exam now have to return to resit hope i get through this time :!: :roll:

    I am doing PEV second resit oh god hope I pass this time.If I do then yipeeeeeeeeeee it is the end of AAT for me.
    Hope the revision is going okay everyone.
    Has anyone looked at june 06 paper the question about the averages? why are the positive figures subtracted and the negative ones added?
    Please could somebody enlighten me.

    I think you are talking about task 1.2

    Remember that
    Actual sales = Trend + seasonal variation

    In essence we have been asked for deseasonalised sales - in other words the trend, so

    Actual sales - seasonal variation = Trend

    As an example
    Quarter 1 Trend = 22000 - (2000) = 20000
    Quarter 2 Trend = 19400 - (-1000) = 20400
    (if you minus a minus you actually add it on)

    I hope this makes sense, i think that the real issue is understanding what the question is really asking

    Hi guys

    Yes 1st re-sit for me and want to get this exam finished so I can progess onto level 2 (ACCA)

    I reckon this is the hardest paper within AAT...so many calculations etc...

    Hi yes I'm sitting PEV in December its a resit and its my last exam ( I hope) realy struggling with the variances and can somebody help me with the gearing ratio what is it and how do you do it????? :? thanks heather

    Hi, I am doing PEV.

    I've just managed to learn all the standard cost variances - including overheads. I thought I was never going to get them. Now its just the stuff in part 2 of the paper although they don't seem as bad.
