Income from being a self-employed MIP

Would anyone be prepared to divulge approximately what they earn per year from being an MIP? I am currently in FT employment with some private clients, but would consider taking the plunge and going FT self-employed and just wonder what the general level of earnings are.

I realise that I am requesting 'sensitive' information, so if anyone wants to send me a private message rather than post a message on the forum, I would be very grateful.0 -

It depends on how many hours you intend to work per week!0 -

Well I would be expecting to work at least 35 hours a week as I would be doing it as a FT job!0 -
Re:Income from being a self-employed MIP
Just curious but have you had any private messages?
I'm not a MIP (my husband has just set up in business himself - not in accounting - so one of us needs a reliable income
) but there are just so many variables I imagine it is a difficult one to answer.
When you say 35 hours, do you mean chargeable hours, on top of the rest of the work running your business ie finding clients, your own bookkeeping etc ? You may want to work for 35 hours, but you may have a problem getting enough clients at first. Hopefully you will have the opposite and be working for much longer and so potentially earn more, but be working harder than you are now. There are loads of threads about how much people charge and that again varies depending on which part of the country you are in.
Having just "taken the plunge" at the age of 50 we are both working longer (guess who does hubbies books!) but it is much more satisfying than lining someone else's pockets!
