Exams / Funeral

My 4 month old baby cousin died yesterday.
It's possible his funeral might fall on a day when I'm due to sit an exam. If it does, I won't be sitting the exam, but I just wanted to know, if I will be able to re-sit the exam in June.
Do I need to let the AAT know asap, or leave it with my tutor.
I don't know what I need to do, my head is all over the place at the moment.

    Hi Kirst

First of all my thoughts go out to you and your family at this sad time.

With regard to the exams I would contact the AAT and leas with your tutor but you will most certainly be able to sit the exam again at a later date so don't worry yourself with that.

    Kind regards

First of all, my condolences to you and your family at this very sad time.

If you are able to take the exam, I would ask the AAT for special consideration to take into account what has happened as your mind won't quite be 100% focus.

Good luck in your exam and hope it goes well

    Kirst

I'm sorry to hear such sad news.

I recommend you send an email to:

    charlene.mcleary@AAT.ORG.UK

    with the subject line:

    Reasonable Adjustments and Extenuating Circumstances

I know 2 students who had to make similar requests in June and this was the lady to contact.
People do change their jobs and if this job is now done by someone else, I guess you will have an appropriate reply.

You should also notify your tutor (who would let the college's exams officer know what is going on). Not everyone needs all the details, but they need to know what they should do once any decision is made.

If you do not hear from Charlene, I suggest you ring AAT's switchboard and ask for the appropriate person who deals with Extenuating Circumstances.
