Does anyone else also think that it would help candidates if they knew how many marks were available for each task? It would give a guide, particularly on the written parts, on how much to write. No point writing two pages for a 5 mark question!

That is a good point but on the negative side imagine you did not understand a question that was for a large amount of marks, that may throw you abit.0 -

I just struggle with how much is required for the written parts and these bits are increasing on the papers. I see your point though - its a difficult one! :shock: i think higher level CIMA/ACCA papers show the marks.0 -

yes CIMA & ACCA show the marks, this is for written work. i would agree it is better where written questions are concerned.0 -

It would definately be better if the level of marks were shown. If there's 3 points, you'd generally just list 3 points of discussion down. I actually think it'd also encourage more reasonable answers to be provided by candidates since you wouldn't waffle as much thinking you need to write half a page when only a paragraph is required.
I remember doing an A Level Business Studies exam though and it was 30 marks for one question!
