Hi,
hope someone out there can help.
When you have issued an invoice with settlement discount and then you need to raise a credit note against it, do you have to work out the nett price for the credit note to take into account the settlement discount paid on the orginal invoice?

Hi, i came across this in class a few weeks ago. The answer we concluded was whether the invoice had been paid or not and therfore whether the early settlement discount had been taken. If the credit note was raised before payment the amount on the credit note would be the same as the total on the invoice, calculated the same way (if everything was returned). If it was raised after payment with the settlement discount taken, then you would need to take the discount off. Gemma
