Hi

Generally speaking you probably best of talking to the AAT, as they can advise members on this. However with regards to what you should be able to do is anything your training has covered. Obviously there are rules for subnitted statutory accounts.

However, being an ACCA student you should be aware that unless you hold the ACCA's Practise Certificate (which you cant get until you do post ACCA qualification training) or a Practise Certificate from another recognised accounting body (this doesn't include the AAT's scheme for self employed members), ACCA regulations prohibit you doing work behond trial balance. Therefore you won't be able to prepare final statements for a company/business that a 3rd party (i.e. a bank) may use, regardless of that company/business needing audited accounts or not. Apparently doing breaking this regulation is the most common reason an ACCA student or member is disciokined by the ACCA.

You could still do general book-keeping, VAT and payroll etc, but you may not be able to count self employed work experience towards your ACCA experience reuqirement unless the work you're doing is on a sub-contract from a firm of accountants etc.0 -
