Can anyone help me out with this. Can't find anything in my books.

Need to know the advantages and disadvantages of share capital?

    hope this helps:

    I presume you are talking about ordinary share capital?

    how about

    high dividends - (hopefully) when the profits are high - dependent on the decision of the directors/managers of the company.

    if there is no profit (or insufficient)- then usually not awarded any dividend.

    Paid last after debentures and preference share holders.

    no set return detailed per share held.
