Hi there,
This is my first post, after years of being a credit manager I have returned to bookeeping(lot more flexible having a one year old) but am having some problems with remembering how to record certain entries as my brain is rusty!
My firm has just move office(it is a lease they don't own it) and I am querying how to record stamp duty in sage, is it recorded as a normal expense as they haven't bought the building?
Thanks

Re:Stamp Duty
I would say that it is a normal expense - part of legal and professional fees.
I am willing to be corrected if some-one knows better!

Re:Stamp Duty
Would you not capitalise this along with the cost of the lease? Some good rules regarding leases, might be worth swot'ing up on and applying to your situation.
