No idea, don't do gigs anymore - too old and too poor.

Seeing as you're a bit of a Led Zep fan Paul, have you heard The Music before? Someone lent me their first album recently and I can't stop listening to it - similar sound in places to Dazed & Confused from the first Zep album but more contemporary.

No I havent heard that mate, Ive heard of them though. Talking of Zep though, I recently got hold of their album called 'Coda' which people dont seem to be familiar with, it is incredible! What an amazing band!

I agree that that first album is pretty amazing, along with IV. They are two of my favourite albums.

What bands do you listen to from more recent times then Rob?

    Paul.

Jesus, CODA was the first Zep album I ever bought when I was first getting into rock/metal back in 1981/82! Haven't heard it in years! Remember I liked one called We're gonna groove or something plus the John Bonham drum solo thing!

I haven't purchased a physical CD in years but the most recent albums I've downloaded have been Muse, Evanescence, Snow Patrol, Celtic Frost, Linkin Park and The Music.

I find much modern stuff like The Killers and Razorlight far too lightweight and it just does nothing for me. Give me thrashing guitars, pounding double bass drums and blood curdling vocals any day!

Not a big Killers fan, I do like Razorlight though. Do you like Sabbath Rob? Warning is one of my favourite sogs of all time!

I love Black Sabbath though a bit indifferent to Ozzy's vocals which are only just about tolerable at the best of times. While he may not have been the first, Ronnie James Dio was the greatest ever Sabbath vocalist for me. They've temporarily reunited with Dio to record three new songs - could be mighty!

Ozzy has had a very charmed life by meeting the greatest guitar riffer ever in Tony Iommi and continued it by surrounding himself with other great musicians.

The Sabbath catalogue is immense - Symptom of the Universe, Supernaut, Neon Nights, Heaven and Hell etc. Gonna now have a Sabbath session this afternoon I think. Haven't heard Warning - what album's it off?
They must have put something in the water up in Brum in the sixties/seventies what with (early) Judas Priest also being one of the all time greats too.

Just downloaded "Warning" - very good and proves that Black Sabbath were anything but your run of the mill heavy rock band at times. Very Zeppelin-like in places and even Ozzy sounds acceptable!

I think "We sold our soul..." was part compilation, part new...

    Re:V

The first CD I bought (as most of my stuff was that black shiny round stuff) was Ozzy Osborne tribute to Randy Rhoads who was the most amazing guitarist. I could hardly take that album off the player and still get it out every now and then.

I have the first two Ozzy solo albums with Randy Rhoads on - "Blizzard of Oz" and "Diary of a Madman". I remember hearing "You Can't Kill Rock n Roll" as a tribute to Randy following his death - such a beautifully composed song and it always takes me back to that time when I first heard it...

Just had a look at the line-ups - have to admit that hardly anyone appealed to me!

    Give me Kreator not Kasabian!

If there is one band a day that you want to see, the money is worth it for the weekend as a whole package. Amazing!

Never mind Take That, I found this on youtube Paul; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T3iemAZsiA

Sounds and looks like it was taken on a camera phone but it's a pretty good representation and the studio version of this song is awesome.

I'd probably kill to see this group if they ever tour again. Gets me how middle of the road tosh like The Killers and Razorlight make it while real talent like this never does.

    Damn website!

    Robert

EDIT; seems okay now apart from old photo still being shown!! Oh, and apparently being the only one online! That surely can't be right with Chris being one of the nocturnal Evil Dead!
