Operating Profit.... im thick

Hello, im just doing some of my homework for college and im gettin myself into a bit of a mess with the operation profit.

How do i find the operating profit?
Is it:
Turnover - variable costs = operating profit
OR
Turnover - variable & fixed costs = operating profit

Please help me :oops:

    its turnover less variable and fixed costs. its the profit before interest rec/paid, taxation and dividends.
