Unit 10 - based on a local shop - converting books from manual to computerised - need help

Well bluewednesday was nice enough to share the idea of basing my Unit 10 project on computerising a client's manual bookkeeping. Thanks once again bluewednesday!
I've based it on a local shop, one we did actually create a computerised Excel schedule for (based on their manual copy), which of course is very handy.
I'm using the Heiss Limited sample project from the Osborne book.
I'm lacking ideas for weaknesses in the current system AND prevention of fraud. I have some listed, but feel their could be more, as I don't think I've put down as much as there could be covered.
Cheers in advance!

Hi Bry10
Heres some fraud prevention ideas:
Pre-labelled prices
Till rolls/pre-numbered receipts
Supervision of shop staff and cashiers
Receipts banked intact
Receipts banked daily
Check cash book listings to paying-in slips
Reconciliation of all bank accounts
Regular stock-takes (compare actual sales to records)
Monthly management accounts, KPIs, sales statistics
Maybe on comparison to the existing system, they might highlight some weaknesses.
If your client completes the spreadsheet, maybe you could consider some IT controls, such as protecting cells, formulae for calculations and spreadsheet review by management.
Just some ideas. Hope they help.

Cheers Saj.
I've already got a few of them, but the one about protecting cells is a goody, especially against fraud (mis-stating figures, therefore their profit/loss).
I've got 1,276 words, and have just finished the "improving the system", meaning I still have to do: "making the decision", "implementing the new system" and "conclusion".
Does that seem like a reasonable amount of words for where I'm at? Or shall I expand on what I've already written?
Cheers

Hi Bry10
I tried not to concentrate too much on the word count because I kept thinking "I'll never reach 3000 words!" At the end of each section, I checked the word count but mainly just tried to pad out sentences and ideas as much as possible, as I went along. By the end, I got to about 3800-3900 words.
