Auditing unit

Does anyone know what is involved in the audit portfolio? I would like to do the audit unit from home and just produce a portfolio as I have failed tax twice now and need one more unit to complete AAT.

I don't know what is invovled with the unit but I am also doing it from home. I signed up with BPP for the cash management and audit untit. There about £100 each but all you need to do is a moc exam, they then send you your simulation to complete. You don't need to bother building a portfolio this way.

I found Audit OK. Just worked through the text book, did a mock (with Premier Training) and then the actual simulation.

Helen, did you not have to be supervised while taking the simulation? I'm under the assumption that you did this via distance learning.

I did all my simulations on a Saturday morning (different Saturdays!) in a spare office at work.

Our shop opens on a Saturday, so my boss was able to supervise me.

He then signed to say that everything was done in accordance with the instructions given.

    Re:Auditing unit

My line manager was supervisor for my simulation. She even let me do it in worktime because it was work related.

Theres a lot of information to remember for the unit but if you learn the methods, its quite easy because you can apply them to any audit test. Compared to unit 19 it was easier because I had to know all the tax laws/regulations by rote.
