hi
I failed my fra and i dont really want to resit it at the same time as my ecr cause i want to pass at least one exam this year is it possible to go on to technician level if i havnt passed my fra and resit it at a later date my tutor doesnt really know so im a bit confused he thinks i can but he isnt 100% sure

A friend on my course failed ECR last June and went on to Technician (passing ECR and PTC in December), so it's certainly possible. Personally, I think you'd be better off resitting in June but that's another matter.

Yes, you can take and pass technician exams before you take FRA.

But if you only want to sit ECR in June, why do you want to have the (harder) technician exams and FRA later?

It is possible to sit ECR and FRA in the same sitting. But I would advise you to complete Intermediate before you attempt Technician because you need that knowledge to succeed in Technician.

Agree with Eva and Sandy there - you really do need to conquer the easier stuff before tackling the hard.

I think you also have to wonder why you failed FRA? Have you reworked the exam and learnt from the mistakes you made? Were you a marginal fail or was it by a considerable distance? If the latter, then you may struggle with DFS at Technician level - you really need to be competent at FRA since the finiancial theories continue on and become more technical.

You'll also need to get past ECR since this is also continued on in PEV/PCR.

thanks everyone im good with the fra there was alot going on at the time so wasnt thinking properly so rather than let it get to me now and there for concentrate on the rest of my studies thought it might have been easier to resit at a later date
