DFS Government Accounts - Help please

Hi
I am applying for a job at my local council which requires a knowledge of the below exhequer functions. Unfortunately I was not given the oportunity to do government accounts and instead I had to do Industry and Commerce.
Can someone please breifly define the following exchequer functions so that I can say im familiar with them:
- Income
- Recovery
- Payments
- Cash Office
