Okay,
I have no idea what I need to do to get back on the horse and finally finish my AAT.
I got the foundation out of the way back in 1999, I then went on a course for the intermediate after a short break out and passed the exams in 2001. The problem being, that I didnt get the full certificate because I didnt finish my course work.
Now I want to re-start and get the AAT done and dusted in the hope to possibly continue to ACCA.
Where do I start though? Can my 2001 intermediate exam passes still count? How can I get my pass certificate now that my course work is long gone?
I am thinking of starting a home course for the technician stage, im sure im comepetent, but not sure if I can all the time I havent officially comepleted the intermediate stage.
Can someone give me a rough idea on where to start??
All help, advice appreciated.

I believe that you can start at any level anyway as long as the tutor accepts you. I started at Intermediate. If you start at Advanced you obviously wouldn't get the intermediate and still have to complete the health and safety aspect (which is what is irritating me). As for completing your level 3 all I can suggest is emailing the AAT or a tutor at a local college and finding out that way.0 -

Hi
When the new standards came out in 2003, a lot was said about how you had to complete each level under one set of standards, i.e if you passed some assessments on pre 2003 standards you would have to do the rest under pre 2003 standards. However, the AAT did later allow transfer of exam passes therfore you may find that your exam passess under the old intermediate standards were transferred to the new (2003) standards. You will need to check/confirm this with the AAT.
As for going straight in at Technician, you could but the ACCA award exemptions for AAT based on the student having completed both intermediate AND technician.

Re:Need to re-start my AAT, but not sure where to begin.
I restarted my AAT in Oct last year after a gap. To bring my Intermediate up to date I have had to:-
- Complete portfolio Units 21 & 22 (Health and Safety and Working with Computers). No exams required just losts of paperwork to gather for your portfolio. The details of the portfolo can be found at http://www.aat.org.uk/servlet/file/Intermediate_record.pdf?ITEM_ENT_ID=1512&ITEM_VERSION=1&COLLSPEC_ENT_ID=34
- Bridging exams to upgrade my exams to the new standards. (for example Financial records are now Partnerships and Sole Traders whereas I studied Limited Companies)
However, my situation is different to yours and it would be interesting to hear what the AAT advised as to what exemptions they will allow you.

That is tricky one
I would also like to know what the AAT say on this matter0
