Does anyone know of museums or exhibitions in their area of Teddy Bears?

I know there's one at Wookey Hole in Somerset and Wilton House in Wiltshire. But are there any more?

Also, have you been to one?

Thank you!

Helen

Yes I know, thanks. Just hoping for a few personal anecdotes from anyone that's visited.

There's toy museum in Stansted Mountfitchet, near Stansted airport in Essex, that I found surprisingly enjoyable. It's next door to the reconstructed Norman castle, which is also worth a look if you're in the area. (You get discounted entry for visiting both in the same day)

I went to a teddy bear museum for some food once and I can tell you it was no "picnic", all they had was porridge, honey and marmalade sanwiches.

Can I quote you on that? That's just the kind of anecdote that will turn the mundane into the marvellous!

Not really teddy's but an article on the history of the "Golly" would be very interesting, especially as they have made the nationals again, this time found lurking in a window display in Stalybridge in Manchester.
