hi there, i would like some advice from people who have continued in their studies after the AAT. I am thinking i would like to study the ACCA. I am (hopefully) going to finish AAT technician in june!! have two centrals to sit then im finished. i have studied sincing leaving school foundation, intermediate and now studying the technician, i have no pratical experience in accounting, as have not worked more than a couple of days in an accounting environment. So i will not gain full memebership until i have a years work experience. I am thinking of going to work for a year and not studying until i have that years experience, how ever i would like to make a start on ACCA even if its just one paper. Can i study the ACCA at home and if so where do you take the exams? also can i study the ACCA without being working ? some people have told me yes and others no so i am confused on this? i know you need the experience to pass the qualification , but can i study it, then get the experience? please can anyone advise me as i feel im going to reach a plateau.[/b]

Yes - book into the exam venue which suits you (see www.accaglobal.com)
Yes - you can but as you wrote the ACCA qualification requires relevant work based evidence
