Dial R for...murder...Help!

Does anyone know how to solve this?

A friend has changed her phone line from a business to a home one and had to dial 'R' to get a line.

Since BT have tinkered, she can't get on-line.

I know you can opt for 'dial 9', but how do you get round the 'dial R'?

Will it not be the number on the dial with the letter R on it over the number - I think it's number 7.

They're trying it now...

As they were going to send me an email if it were a success, and they haven't - I don't think it was '7'...

Do they mean dial R as in most phones have an R button for redial/recall?

Yes - they do, which is why, I think, Steve's option didn't work.

You'd think they'd realise not all people have an R button!

Don't know what else to suggest I'm afraid.... buy a new phone?

The problem is, I believe, to do with reverting from a business system to a domestic one.

BT have said they can come out in about 10 days, but that seems like an awfully long time.

They have to press 'R' to get an outside line - but how you tell the computer to do that?

some ISPs you can change the number and add characters needed to dial an outside line... but last time I did that I was with AoL and was about 15!...
