    Hi,
    I don't know about the 'triangle' sorry, but I'm really struggling to remember all the formulas for the variances and would also appreciate any tips that anybody has.

    Thanks :?

    The triangle came from a friend of mine at college and I sent it out via this site and it's gone everywhere - the power of the web!

    I've still got it as a word document so pm me and I'll send it to you.

    The only triangle I know is capacity + efficiency = volume variance

    pm = private message.

    If you click the link under someones name on the left hand side it will take you to their profile. From there you can view their e-mail address - if made publicly available - or alternatively, send them a private message and let them know your e-mail address that way without everyone else knowing.

    Regards,

    I remember the mystical triangle - and it never clicked with me.

    I used to write out all the variances in full and eventually evolved an abrieviated version for each one. To anyone else it might be baffling, but for me it worked.

    I would write them out at least three times a day, just to ram them home.

    I also did reconcilations of the variances to check my figures - even if the question didn't require it.

    I set out the reconciliation in a logical order - not necessarily the order you learn them in.

    Best advice I received was to do this:

    During the reading time of the exam, before you have read anything, write all the variances out clearly. Then, when a question confuses you - you have the full explanation of the variances to guide you through.

    I did it before all the practice and actual exams and it works.
