Hiya,

I am really stuck, I have read through the Osbourne book but can't find it anywhere. :( I am working through the Unit 7 Simulation in the Osbourne book and cannot find out how to work this out. I have a set of figures relating 2003 and another relating to 2004. I have to fill in what the % change (+ or -) is??

For example

Sales 2003 £859,625 2004 £986,950

I have to say what the % change is (+ or-)

Not sure if anyone knows what I'm talking about but plse help if you do!!

Thanks

Whenever it is a percentage increase over the previous year the formula is (this years figures - last years figures) divided by last years figures (x 100). If you think about it it's the difference divided by the figure that you're comparing to. The multiply by hundred is to give you a percentage figure.

    In your example (986,950-859625)/ 859625 = 14.8% increase.
