edited June 18 in AAT student discussion
Hi all looking a little bit of advice i am doing my final exams in june if all goes well i will have the qualification. At this moment and time i dont work in accounts and i know you have got to have a years experience to become a full member, does this mean that i cant start studying to become chartered until i have this experience behind me. I will also be looking for a job soon, whats the best way to go about this and what am i looking at in terms of job.

Thanks

HI Sanjay here, I am in the same position you are in, I am a research chemist on the technician level, so far I have passed every assesment/exam first time. Interviews are hard to come by but I am currently a treasurer for a charity on a voluntary basis which is a very good base on which to build. As for AAT full memebership you need one years relevant work experience, as for ACCA you can start it at Level 2(old system) upon completion of AAT but I think you would be better of looking for any job in accounts before doing ACCA, you might become over-qualified for junior positions?
