Please can somebody tell me what is the difference between chartered accountant (ACA) and a chartered certified accountant (ACCA)?

I can imagine how many times this question has been asked! :)

Thank you.

    Re:Chartered or Certified

There is no difference in terms of what they can do - it's just like choosing between tesco and sainsbury's!! They're just 2 different accountancy qualifications.

Chartered is qualfied with ICAEW (Institute of chartered accountants in england and Wales) and certified is qualified with ACCA (Association of chartered certified accountants).
