Hi,

Im stuck!! Can VAT be reclaimed when a company buys a Van for business use??

Can anyone help me? :):)

    i think the vat can be reclaimed on a van, but NOT on a car.

    VAT cannot be reclaimed if the vehicle is going to be used for personal use which includes driving into work.

    VAT can be reclaimed if the van is only for business use, i.e. delivery van etc...

    VAT can be reclaimed if a car is only for business use - but this is extremely unlikely, as most cars are given out as company cars and include personal use.

    If this is for the exam, it will more than likely let you know if VAT is reclaimable or not.
