Could someone please explain in simple terms the Internal Rate of Return as I'm not grasping this and it keeps appearing in past papers. It's really starting to worry me.

    Webbo

Don't worry. You nare not the first and I doubt you will be the last to ask. I hope these two links to previous questions and the links they give, are helpful.

    Many thanks for your help.

I have had a look at the links you provided and within them some of the links no longer exist, but I have printed one off and I'll be looking through this sometime today. Hopefully it will finally sink in!!

I haven't got long now, so if I don't get it before the exam fingers crossed it won't appear in it.

I would expect all the discussion forum links to work

Accounting Technician articles are archived and require you to log in separately

I recently reviewed the current articles and would recommend anyone taking the exams later this month to at least have a look at a few articles in the archive.

The IRR will not need to be calculated for ECR. It will only appear in written answers such as memos, so you just need to know a little bit about it

I think the question on Investment appraisal is likely to be a memo, Giving the details, and you probably just have to explain the meaning of them and decide wether or not to go ahead with the investment.

Also be ready for a question recommending whether to accept a project based on an IRR value
