I have a job interview in a local accounting practice tomorrow. The role is for a Trainee Accountant.
I have recently passed AAT and wish to progress onto ACCA - which this job will allow me to do! I have over 2yrs of working as an accounts assistant for a manufacturing company and 1yr working as a finance assistant for a public/charity company. Occasionally In my spare time I also help a self-employed friend of mine compleate accounts work for her own private clients (tax returns, investigations...)
Unfortunatly I have had no experience within an accounting practice.
What sort of salary is this job likely to offer me - I live in the North Wales area!
What sort of questions are they likely to ask me?
Any questions which I could ask them?
Thank you

Re:Job Interview in Accounting Practice Tomorrow
hello
I've never worked for an accounting practice and don't live in north wales, so can't help you much here, but my cousin recently went for a similar interview and I helped her prepare for it.
She said that they asked a lot of questions like 'where to you see yourself in 10 years' and 'what skills can you bring to the company'.
We also thought it would be good to ask things like 'how many trainees have sucessfully completed ACCA with you? - what % passed first time? - how much support is avaliable? - what variety of work will I be involved in? - and what % of trainees leave the practice after they've qualified and why?'
Good Luck with it

Probably too late to offer you advice as you are probably already on your way to the interview but good luck!!
Remember at this stage that full study support is more important than the salary, that will all come in time.0
