DFS - international harmonisation

I heard in college that we my be asked to explain about the need for and importance of international harmonisation?? couldn't find anything about it in my text book though?? am i being thick, cause i have no idea what it is!?! can anybody help

Don't know of it either but my guess would be to do with the change of standards to IAS which presumably are relevant internationally and therefore provide comparible financial statements worldwide

I found this website and they state international harmonisation could crop up. I done DFS in December, and I don't recall it being in the syllabus which I was taught. Then again, it could've changed.0 -
