Overall Invigilator Failings

Hi,

Prompted by the "kilogate" scandal, I though I would ask if any other students experienced the following whilst sitting exams:

People being allowed to sit exams without photo ID. In December, I saw people allowed to sit exams who hadn't bought any with them. This time I saw someone bring ID with their maiden name on it, whilst their attendance showed their married name. Hello...! I think I would at least take my marriage certificate along.

Invigilators walking round the room asking to borrow calculators because someone "couldn't fit all the numbers she needed on the screen of the calculator she had". What on earth was she doing?! (BTC)

I honestly cannot believe how dense some people are.

I could go on, but I need to start work.

I saw the same thing, a girl had only ID in her maiden name but her papers were in her married name, where did you take your exam?
Also in December the exam invigilators didnt even know the rules and said we were not allowed to write until the 15 mins is over, so everybody lost 15 minutes of valuable writing time.
Where do they pick the invigilators from?

    Hi,

I sat in Fareham this time, and Worthing last December.

I was married at the end of March and knowing that my driving licence and passport would still be in my maiden name at the time of exams I just made sure I didn't tell the AAT that I had married, to avoid such a problem as this. It's not difficult!

All someone would need to do was find someone with the same first name to sit the exam for them. Again, that wouldn't be difficult if you had a common name.

What's the point in having rules if they are bent all the time.

Further, the lady on reception sent me to a totally different room for my exam. Being an external student in a strange college is bad enough, but this woman really was useless. In the end, after returning to reception, she was still clueless and I had to take the sheet of paper from her and work in out myself!

Only 2 more exams to go though, and maybe a BTC resit ;-)

    Re:Overall Invigilator Failings

I sat an exam in December and the invigilators mobile went off!!

This time, we were told that we couldnt use tipex, then an hour later he changed his mind.

And then.... 2 hours into the exam he told us we had 15 ,minutes left!! That woke us all up a bit.

We had students sitting other exams in with us who finished early and were told to sit at the back of the room until their teacher came and they were all chatting.. thankfully I was at the front so didnt notice, but others further back did.

And we were told we couldn't use tipex in our PEV exam but could in DFS and PTC :?
