Hello
I am studying AAT level 2 accounts. We get a local company to process wages but as i have to provide all information and tell what to pay we are wondering if it would be cost effective to do it ourselves. Any suggestions on a computer program to look into? Is there anything else i should be considering?

Re:Software help please
I'm also intending to do this but disgracefully haven't got very far yet!
If you're already using a software package for your normal accounts e.g. Sage or Quickbooks, is there a bolt on payroll programme available that should (hopefully) seamlessly integrate with what you already have?
Try attending the free HMRC PAYE courses that are available. I posted the link a while ago, I'll see if I can find it for you.

Have a look at the HMRC employers CD-Rom - or alternatively order the literature in printed format as I also did - there's a discussion somewhere in this Forum on doing that.

Robert

Moneysoft for payroll seems to be tops with the MIP's. I use Iris which I find easy to use. I had very little previous knowledge of payroll, so learning as I go. I have a bureau copy which allows me to do up to 10 companies - although I only need it for 2.
I would also recommend HMRC free courses0
