is there anyone else out there who is not working in an accounts firm and would like to go on and do cima or acca?
im lost as to what to do now
can anyone advise what would be a good route for someone who has no practice experience and wants to progress? i cant get a training contract anywhere, is it worth doing cima or acca if you havent got enough experience? or should i go att, degree, etc
any advice will be gratefully received

Re:what do we do now?
the recruitment agency has advised not to do a degree.
i am underexperienced and over qualified and seem to be having no lucvk getting a job.
now i feel disheartened as recruitment advisor says she just placed a girl with a first degree on a training contract paying only 10k
maybe i should have just stuck with management after all
???surely you must get something for the four years of studying accounts and bookkeeping0 -

The problem is that if you don't have any experience you will struggle to find well paid work, and may have to resort to low paid junior level jobs and work your way up.
I would have thought that CIMA would be quite difficult if you're not working in an accounting or finance / management role.
I've already been told having completed Intermediate that I am over qualified for the job I have just started - but they see me as a longer term investment so will try and make the job interesting and paid enough to keep me here.
Most people aren't so lucky.
I know people working in I.T. who applied for 500+ jobs before the got offered something suitable after they left University with relevant degrees.
If you get lots of qualifications and not enough experience to go with it, you will struggle to find work full stop, because good jobs want experience, and low end jobs dont want someone who is more qualified than the management.0
