Hi there. I`m new to all this, just started the Diploma pathway through premier training and am on certificate level. Thing is I thought I was quite bright but these debits and credits are doing my head in and I`m only on chapter 4! Am I getting debit confused with debtor. I though you owe a debtor therefore why does the debit column in the accounts show your assets! Please help, any advice appreciated. I have read the previous threads re this and it still doesnt sink in! If anyone is at the same level as me please e-mail me and we can be study buddies? belinda.m@ntlworld.com
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re:Debits and Credits. please help!
Hi Bella,
A debtor is someone who owes YOU money, CREDITORS are the people you owe money to.
As they are a debtor and they owe you money, it is an asset and therfore shows on the debit side.
