THE MOST DISCUSSED AND THINKING DEBATE OF 2007 PUT THE VOTE ON YES OR NO SHOULD AAT FIX THIER MARKING HABBITS BY PASSING AT A FAIR STANDARD TO EVERYONE WHO HAS FAILED IN PAPER 2 BUT NOT PAPER 1 IT SUKS YOU HAVE TO RETAKE THE WHOLE EXAM AGAIN ITS JUST A PAIN AAT SHOULD GIVE US A 50% PASS RATE INSTEAD OF FAILING EVERYONE WHO HAS FAILED IN ONE PAPER 2!!!!!
AAT TAKE THIS SERIOUS PLEASEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!0 -

Hi
This applies to all levels of AAT and ensures that you know the modules that you are sitting. If you only knew stuff in section 1, but not in section 2 you wouldn't be able to do that topic effectively.
Keep going

As section 1 and section 2 usually contain different subject matter, I think it is fair that you are expected to pass both sections in order to pass the whole exam.
The scenario will usually change between section 1 and section 2 - making them like two mini-exams to make up the whole. You have to pass each one.
If you've failed part of the foundation exam, I would suggest it would be better to put your efforts into getting the knowledge required to pass it before you start intermediate, instead of trying to force the hand of the AAT to reassess their marking scheme which has worked perfectly well for many years.0 -

I think the way the AAT mark is fair, as to show competence in both sections would show a good ALL ROUND knowledge0 -
Re:PUT THE VOTE ON!!!! PAPER 1 PASSED BUT FAILED PAPER 2 GIVE US A FAIR MARKING AND PASS EVERYONE(
I just had a quick look at the June 2007 PLB exam questions and it seemed a fair paper, presenting few difficulties or surprises for those who'd done adequate revision (crumbs, I sound like peugeot here!) I know it's scant consolation Masteryobo, but the second parts of (most) exam papers are invariably always tougher than the first, so down be too disheartened. Had you failed section one of the PLB paper, I/we'd probably be saying "Give up now" but you didn't so at least take some encouragement from that and prepare yourself better next time.
However, repeating what the others have already said, you really do need to get this fairly easy level completed and out of the way before even considering moving onto Intermediate, since the difficulty level between the two will be quite severe if you're not fully competent and comfortable in the basics.

Hi blobbyh
You seam to be very popular on this site and even very competent with regards accounting. I'm a new member and thought of asking about something that is really annoying me lately.
I'm a student of AAT doing the Certificate course. I did the IAC exam in June and has successfully passed both sections. Working all the past papers on the web site has been a great deal to me.I had studied hard and I'm enjoying studying, but lately I'm not so confident with my next tests as we are told to go on some skill test. My only trouble is that I don't have any information how these might be and therefore I'm loosing all my hope as i don't know what, how and which to study for these tests. I don't even know how the format would be. Have you got any idea or information. Can you inform me were i would be able to find any sample papers of how this might be. We are a class of 9 and we all seem to be dealing with the same problem.
Our tutor told us not to worry as we are all going to make it. But how can we not worry!!!!!?0
