AAT Intermediate but no maths?

Hi there,
I currently hold both the AAT Foundation and the Intermediate certificates of which i am justifiably proud. About to embark on Technician in September.
I do not however have any formal maths qualifications, i took GCSE maths but never got the chance to complete the qualification.
I wondered how this would be viewed in the eyes of an employer, if i was a full AAT member with all three levels would this be acceptable?
Thanks,
Ben.

Re:AAT Intermediate but no maths?
Hi Ben
Well I'm in my 30's and all I have as far as maths is concerned is a CSE grade 4 and it's never held me back!!!
I've done book-keeping since I was 20 and so long as I have my trusty calculator everything is great!
I think employers are looking at what you can bring to them not what you have failed, and the AAT qualification far outways the maths taught at school.
It's a real life qualification and that is how you need to sell it to potential employers.
Congrats with the exam passes to date you have a right to feel proud - I'm also about to start Technician, so if I can do it anyone can!!!

When you work in accounts, there is little cause for the use of triganomatry or pythagorus (spelling?) which as far as i remember is mainly what GCSE Maths consisted of.
My Maths grade at school was terrible, but because I've got relevant experience and relevant qualifications, i dont have any problems when applying for accounts work. Thus far i have a 100% record - applied for two, got offered both

Hi Ben.
You could always sit maths at your local college - should be around £150.

Re:AAT Intermediate but no maths?
Thanks for the replies,
I feel as though my AAT will be far more attractive to an employer than a maths based qualification and now i'm due to start Technician i simply won't have the time to study anything else anyway.
My local College offer free GCSE maths and it is something i certainly wish to pursue after i complete my accountancy studies.
Good luck to everyone starting Technician by the way!

Re:AAT Intermediate but no maths?
I took GCSE Maths and never conisdered myself at all competent, but somehow came out with an A. So I guess maybe with a little work it wouldn't be too difficult0 -

Holding that level of qualification should be more than adequate to persuade an employer that you are reasonably numerate - maybe even moreso than being able to say that (for example) 25 years ago you passed an exam as a kid
