Extra work

Can anyone help me?
I am on the NVQ route and am doing exams for units 8,9,11 and 18.
Is anything else required on top of the exam required to pass these units i.e. portfolio work?
I have not ordered units for these from BPP as I already have Osbourne books to teach myself for the exam. Once passed, that's it isn't it?
I have ordered units from BPP for units 10 and 15 as these obviously need marking as they are a project and a skills test.

Re:Extra work
Hi
Basically units 8&9&11 are mandatory exams. Then you have to chose 2 out of the following 4 options:-
Business Tax - Exam
Personal Tax - Exam
Cash Management & Credit Control - Skills Test
Auditing - Skills Test
On top of that is the Unit 10 Project
I'm sure that I have this right, and equally sure that if I haven't - someone will yodel!
Hope that helps!

Re:Extra work
Meant to add, if your college pick the right simulations for your skills test, it covers all the area's in your unit and you don't need additional evidence. All depends on which sims your college picks - some are better than others (sims that is...or do I mean colleges?)

Re:Extra work
Hiya
Thanks for your reply.
I am a home study student, so am picking my own subjects.
I am ordering 10 and 15 from BPP and therefore know they will mark it and sign these units off.
My concern is, I haven't paid BPP for 8,9,11 & 18 so if there is anything additional required, they obviously won't mark it - but if all the unit requires is the exam then I will be fine0 -
Re:Extra work
I'm pretty sure that the exams cover all the requirements for a unit. I certainly had nothing extra to do for the exam assessed units - or for unit 15 either come to think of it.

Re:Extra work
Yup, the exams cover the units that are tested via exams, but as I said, some sims are better than others regarding the options that are tested via the skills test route.
I have had tough sims where everything was covered, passing the sim meant passing the unit.............
however, I have also had far easier sims (in previous levels) where they seemed to gloss over a fair bit, but then there were additional questions set by the college to ensure all the pc, range & k&u were covered.

Re:Extra work
Well as long as the exams for those 4 units cover the whole unit - which they do - then I shall be fine.
If I need to do extra work for U15, it doesn't matter as I'll have paid for the unit so they will mark it.
Happy days!
