Hi,
As a MAAT if I provide a service for my clients would I advertise as an accountant or bookkeeper?
Also am i right in saying that I can produce accounts for sole traders, partnerships and LTD's? Do the LTD accounts need to be signed of by accountants or the directors'? I'd say the directors'.
Please help.

Many thanks

    Hi

What you call yourself is really up to you, I'd guess it comes down to what services you provide and how broad they are.

As for the accounts for a Ltd Co., they are officially signed by the directors, though the accountant usually includes an accountants report or, in the case of audited accounts, an audit report.

Offer whatever services you are competent to provide.

Offering 'accountancy services' is acceptable if you are uncomfortable calling yourself an accountant. If you are unsure who signs off a set of limited company accounts then you probably shouldn't be offering company accounts prep as part of your services.

Doing subcontract work is always a useful way of building up knowledge in areas you are unsure of.
